Spam Activity Log

The Spam Activity Log is a feature that helps users track emails not received when the recipient mail server marks it as spam. This feature serves two primary purposes:

  • Monitor Email Deliverability: It provides users, particularly administrators, with a log of emails that were marked as spam. This helps diagnose issues where notifications might not reach intended recipients, such as emails landing in spam folders or delivery failures due to incorrect addresses or other errors.

    • This feature includes information such as:

      • Event: The event that triggered the notification.

      • Notification: The name and link for the notification rule that exactly triggered this notification.

      • Subject: Subject of the email to be found on the mail server of the user.

      • Recipients: The list of emails to the users that were affected by this.

      • Issues: The list of issues that were affected by this behavior.

      • Event Time: The time at which the event occurred and triggered the notification rule.

  • Troubleshooting Email Issues: The Spam Activity Log aids in identifying notification delivery problems. Administrators can see whether emails have been marked as spam and take necessary actions to fix the configuration or sender settings. This is particularly helpful when users report they are not receiving emails.

Jira Administrators can access the Spam Activity Log for the entire Jira site and Project Administrators can access it on the specific projects to trace the status of email notifications. This log typically retains information for up to 30 days.

This feature ensures better visibility into the notification system, allowing users to troubleshoot and optimize the notification process, ensuring critical communication reaches its target audience effectively.
